BAHAMIANS TO
GRADUATE FROM CUBAN HEALTH CARE UNIVERSITY

Heads of Government from around the Caribbean have been invited to
Marisol, Cuba tomorrow, Saturday 20th August, 2005 for the
first graduation ceremony of an international university there,
established by the Government of Cuba. The university
was founded to help train health care workers for the region.
In
response to a special invitation from Cuba, Prime Minister the Rt. Hon.
Perry Christie is to send the Honourable Fred Mitchell, Minister of
Foreign Affairs & The Public Service to represent The Bahamas at the
graduation.
Two
Bahamians are among the first graduating class. Mr.
Philip Miller, Undersecretary for Trade & Economic Affairs in the
Ministry of Foreign Affairs, along with His Excellency Carlton Wright,
Bahamas Ambassador to Cuba will accompany the Minister. The
delegation is expected to return on Sunday.
