Christmas Message

The Christmas Season is upon us once again. This year, as we take time to celebrate with family and friends may we pause to remember the true meaning of Christmas – the gift of giving. God gave us His precious Son, Jesus Christ, and He alone give peace, joy and hope, despite uncertain times. We too must learn to give: to give of our time, our talents, and our material resources.

In the midst of the frolic and fun, may we give of ourselves to those less fortunate; may we share of our time – to pause and sit awhile and just provide friendship to a lone soul; and may we give of our resources to meet a need in the life of one less fortunate.

At the first Christmas, the angels spread good tidings of joyful, peace and goodwill to all humankind. May we find the time to be joyful, despite the hardships surrounding us, seeking to be peacemakers and imparting hope to all whom we encounter.

The Ambassador and staff at the Permanent Mission of The Bahamas to the United Nations wish you all a very blessed and peaceful Christmas, and a New Year of fulfilment, growth, and advancement.
