Mr. Philip
Miller, Head of Mission at the Embassy of the Commonwealth of the
Bahamas in China, Positively Raises Bahamas Profile with Chinese
Television
On Friday,
September 22, 2006 The 9th Beijing International
Cultural and Tourism Festival Beijing tourism exhibition and
photography display was held in the Full Link Plaza in
downtown Beijing, China. This event was a large scale exhibition
display of pictures from key tourism locations from around the
world. The purpose of the event was to highlight top
destinations and offer an opportunity for both the public to visit
the displays and for the media to capture this special opportunity
to see so many tourism destinations all together in one place.
Mr. Philip
Miller, Head of Mission for the Embassy of the Commonwealth of the
Bahamas in China, was invited to represent the Bahamas through
delivering welcome remarks to the people that attended the
event. Numerous Chinese print and television media attended the
event, along with representatives of tourism and government
officials. Mr. Miller was interviewed by Beijing Television, The
Travel Channel, and CCTV, China’s national television network.
With many
destinations present at the exhibition, this was an excellent way
for the Bahamas to stand out from the competition. Mr. Miller
was the only representative of a destination to deliver a speech,
and the Bahamas profile was significantly raised in China with
this simple, yet effective, event.
