Bahamas Consulate General in Miami Closed for 2 Days  

It is released for public information that the Consulate General of The Bahamas in Miami, Florida has been closed for two days; today, Thursday 20th November and tomorrow Friday 21st November, 2003. 

The Consulate General, along with other establishments in the area, has closed in the interest of safety upon the advice of the Miami Police Department.  The Miami Police have established a security cordon in the area in connection with the ministerial meetings on the Free Trade Agreement of the Americas.

Bahamians seeking the assistance of the Consulate General of The Bahamas are advised either to leave a message on the answering service, in which case their call will be returned, or alternatively to contact the Bahamas Embassy in Washington, DC.
