Mexican
Government Awards Scholarships to Bahamian Students
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs, in
conjunction with the Mexican Government announces the award of full
scholarships to seven Bahamian
students to pursue undergraduate studies at Universities in Mexico,
beginning in August 2005.
Full scholarships were awarded to Ms. Sherry Johnson to pursue a
Bachelor’s degree in International Relations; Mr. Renaldo Smith for a
Bachelor’s in Computer Science & Technology; Ms. Telia Shearer for
a Diploma Program in Spanish ; Mr. Glenn McPhee for a Bachelor’s in
International Relations; Ms. Bianca Brown for a Bachelor’s in
International Relations; Ms. Kimiko Knowles for a Bachelor’s in
International Relations and Ms. Channell Josey for a Bachelor’s in
International Relations.
In an award ceremony held at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs on
Wednesday, 17th August 2005, the seven scholarship recipients
were presented with their award letters by the
Honorable Frederick A. Mitchell, Minister of Foreign Affairs and the
Public Service, and Ms. Barbara Fox, Honorary Vice Consul to The
Bahamas for Mexico.
The
Government of the Commonwealth of The Bahamas appreciates the financial
assistance given to Bahamian students, to pursue higher education in
subject areas that contribute to the further development of The Bahamas.
The Mexican Scholarship applications are accepted at the Ministry
of Foreign Affairs annually. For
