Scholarship For Research Study For The Academic Year2009 is 30, May
2008
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs announces that
applications for the Japanese Scholarship for research study for the
academic year 2009 are now being accepted. The Japanese offers
scholarships to foreign students who wish to study at Japanese
universities as research students for academic year 2009.
The purpose of the scholarship is not to acquire
a degree. However, if the successful applicant wishes, there is an
opportunity to take the entrance exam for a Masters or Doctoral
Course.
FIELD OF STUDY
Humanities and Social Science: Literature,
History, Aesthetics, Law, Politics, Economics, Commerce, etc.
Natural Science: Pure Science, Engineering,
Agriculture, Fisheries, Pharmacology, Medicine, etc.
QUALIFICATIONS
Nationality: Bahamian
Age: Applicants must be under 35 yrs.
Academic Background: Applicants must be
university graduates (Those who will graduate from university by
March or September 2009 may apply).
Study Area: The study area must be in the
same field as the applicant has studied (or is now studying) or
a related area.
Japanese Language: Applicants must be willing
to study Japanese and receive instruction in Japanese.

Application form (3 originals)
Four (4) Photographs (6x4)
Academic transcript of each academic year of
the last university attended (original)
Recommendation from the principal or the
adviser of the last university attended (1)
Recommendation from the present employer (if
currently employed)
Medical certificate on the prescribe form
(issued by the medical institution designated by the Japanese
Embassy/Consulate General)
Graduation certificate or degree certificate
of last university attended ( or an attested document certifying
that the applicant will graduate from the school, where
applicable)
Abstract of theses
Photograph showing applicant’s own works of
art or a recorded tape of musical performance (only for those
majoring in fine arts or music)

Ministry of Foreign Affairs. Applicants must submit application form
with the required documents, no later than May 30, 2008 at the
Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Goodman’s Bay Cooperate Centre, West
