IV ACS SUMMIT ENDS IN PANAMA

 

The Heads of State and Government of the Association of Caribbean States concluded their Fourth Summit in Panama City on Friday, 29 July 2005; and issued a Statement, “The Declaration of Panama” which covered a range of topics affecting the Greater Caribbean region, such as the shipment of nuclear waste through the Caribbean Sea, the formulation of an energy strategy and the restoration of democracy in Haiti. 

The Bahamas delegation to the conclave consisted of the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Hon. Fred Mitchell; Bahamas High Commissioner to CARICOM, H.E. A. Leonard Archer; Under Secretary for Trade and Economic Affairs in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Mr. Philip Miler; and Mr. Facundo Bacardi, Honorary Consul of The Bahamas to Panama
