HURRICANE RELIEF ASSISTANCE FROM THE CARIBBEAN

Immediately after the passage of Hurricane Frances, the Chief Minister of the Turks and Caicos Islands, Michael Missick, visited Grand Bahama, where thousands of Turks Islanders and descendants live, and donated $200,000 to the relief effort 

At the Emergency Meeting of the Conference of Heads of Government of the Caribbean Community held on 15 September, the Prime Minister of Trinidad and Tobago committed a donation of $500,000 to The Bahamas disaster relief effort.  This was followed up by a personal visit by Mr. Manning to Grand Bahama on Tuesday, September 21, 2004.  On the following day, the Trinidadian Prime Minister delivered an address to the House of Assembly in Nassau.
