Miller and Newry attend 40th SIRG Meeting in Buenos Aires, Argentina

Under Secretary Philip Miller, Head of the Trade and Economic Affairs Division of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, accompanied by First Secretary, Eugene Newry of the Bahamas Washington Embassy, is attending the 40th Meeting of the Summit Implementation Review Group (SIRG) taking place at the Palacio San Martin in Buenos Aires, Argentina.

The meeting which runs from 7th to 9th September, has convened to plan for the 4th Summit of the Americas, when the 34 democratically elected heads of State and Government of the Western Hemisphere will meet in Mar del Plata, Argentina on 4th and 5th November, 2005.

The SIRG negotiations will focus on the wide range of issues associated with the Summit theme, “Creating Jobs to Fight Poverty and Strengthen Democratic Governance”.
