The 11th Intersessional Preparatory Meeting of the Ministerial Council Association of Caribbean States (ACS), held on July 19 – 20, 2007 in Port of Spain, Trinidad and Tobago,

The Ministerial Council addressed issues and presented reports relating to the activities carried out with regards to the Caribbean Sea Commission, the status of the preparation of the High Level Conference on Risk Reduction, Mitigation of the Effects and Recovery from Natural Disasters in the Greater Caribbean, the organizational structure and financial position of the Association. The meeting discussed extensively on strengthening relations between the European Commission and the ACS. An official visit to Europe is being planned in order to position the Greater Caribbean as a special area for cooperation for relations between the European Union and Latin America and the Caribbean (EU-CAC).

Additionally, the meeting considered reports of the Chairmen of the Special Committees including, the Special Committees on Sustainable Tourism, , Budget and Administration of which the Bahamas serves as Chairman and Vice Chairman, respectively.

The Delegation headed by High Commissioner A. Leonard Archer, Ambassador to CARICOM accompanied by Mrs. Lynnith M. Braynen, Senior Assistant Secretary in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs returned on Saturday 21st July.
